English as a Second Langu年龄 (ESL)

Fred Gilles, who moved to the United States from Haiti two years ago, came to Delaware Tech through the English as a Second Langu年龄 (ESL) program, but he has his eyes set on studying business man年龄ment at the College.

"When I first came to Delaware Tech, I wanted to enroll in the business man年龄ment program, because I always loved business and have studied economics back in my home country," Gilles said. "After taking the ESL placement test, I was told that I would need to enroll in advanced ESL courses first."

It was important for Gilles to enroll in college for his own personal development. The business degree he will earn would also assist him with the knowledge and skill set needed to successfully launch his own business.

He chose Delaware Tech in order to accomplish these goals because it is conveniently close to home and his wife is also a student at the College.

After completing the ESL program, Gilles plans to enroll in business man年龄ment and earn his bachelor’s degree through the connected degree program.

His dream career is to become an entrepreneur. "I want to be able to help my community, create jobs, and provide opportunities for others."
